Alright back on track on working on Zyke my alien OC, and the weight painting is honestly so frustrating, and I feel that I did this to myself NGL. The torso is made out of two different models one being just the torso, and the other being a labcoat. I thought I was clever, but I just shot myself in the foot as now the torso, and jacket is never aligned properly, and clip into each other. Looking up some tutorials now on how I can make this easier on myself

Just recently created my 10th anniversary Splatoon artwork which you can see on my sheezy.art account https://sheezy.art/vidknight, After finishing it I came to realize something about myself. When it comes to blender I like creating my own models more than I do using premade ones.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying "Premade models are bad >:(" They can be good, and useful like in my 10th anniversary artwork where it was just easier, and faster than creating 8 different Splatoon character models, texture, and rig them, along with the weapons. in the 3 days I had to work on this. Just using Splatoon blender models is faster, and better in everyway.

But creating my own models just feels more satisfying to me as an artist as I can look at them, and go "I created this!" That feeling that what I created was mines, and is no one else just feels good to me.

I feel that this is not all to surprising to me as during my SFM days. (OK I still dabble in it every once in a while when making animations because rendering animations in blender takes forever on my potato PC). I always find myself trying to create my own characters, by model hacking the absolute hell out of so many models.

So yea what I'm trying to say here is that while Premade models are cool, and I have no problems with them. I do like the feeling of creating something completely by myself (And some YouTube tutorials).

So recently I was just screwing around on the web, and I was browsing smashboards going through the profile post section. What do I see? Caddicarus doing a goddamn Ted talk. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOkL7q2SeGZeZuj22njMYEA/community?lb=UgkxM4n_b-omH6pg58l97NjLbDcvnPiWGpwn

I haven't watched him in a while since i basically just lost interest in his stuff, but if I remember correctly his videos are nothing short of bat shit insane, and so it's so funny that he got a ted talk, and not only that the topic he's talking about does interest me.

I honestly do got to agree with him on hating the word "content". I'm not exactly sure why I hate it. It just always make me groan when I hear the word. This reminds me one time a couple of month ago somebody in my class said something about being content creator, and being in a content house. When I heard them say the word "content" it sent a shiver to my spine. Hopefully this TED talk can maybe shine light on why I hate the word "content".

I just recently remember a music artist that I feel had a lot of potential, and that was Monsune. His stuff is real great it's remind me a lot of the band Ginger root, and phum virphut except way more chill in my opinion. His stuff is great one problem though. He dropped one EP in 2019, and one single back in 2017, and just dipped.

I have no idea why, but he just stopped making music. It's not to say he stopped producing music according to his wikipedia he worked on one of SZA song "Saturn" last year. I never really listened to SZA before (Except when she was with Kendrick Lamar). So when I gave it a listen it sounds so good, and you can tell that Monsune worked on the song.

Honestly I just wish he drop like another song because I feel that his stuff can go from pretty good to down right beautiful

Right now creating my 3rd OC ever in blender, and I have a lot of thoughts I wanted to share about the whole thing that I never could until now, Lets start with how freeing it is to have the power to virtually create anything without having some artificial limit. I come from SFM, and one thing that frustrated me about using the program was just how limiting it was when I wanted to create an OC, and I didn't have the model I need to get my idea out there so instead I can just create the whole character in my head from scratch instead, and not only that formulate, my own style, and create something that truly feels like mine.

The process of creating these guys is a pretty short one when looking at it. The models in question is not all too complex, and I feel like I'm getting better at creating models quicker in general the more I work around blender, and figure out the different tools. Texturing though is a different beast. Fun fact about me is that I'm bad at 2d art in general so this process is rough, but luckily I figured out a way to make it easier for me. There's this pixel art program called piskel that is pretty bare bones from what I seen, but is perfect for somebody like me who just want to create low poly textures. So ultimately it's just up to me actually doing the work.

I swore there was one more thing I wanted to add here, but I can't remember lmao. Anyway guess this is the end of this.
